Corryong and Surrounds flooding

Lots and Lots of rain the last couple of days and to top it off the Cooma Dam began releasing water which resulted in the spill from the Khancoban pondage. The spill exceeded riverbank capacity. Flows downstream also exeeded riverbank capacity. The strong winds yesterday had us on our toes and we got a little wet out and about the property... Towong Bridge is closed due to flooding over the road and the Murray is MASSIVE. I took some photos and a quick video. Just 3 months ago we had bush fires, 2 weeks ago snow and today flooding! but where else would you want to be?

A lovely little note

After doing the dinner to the rooms, we go around and collect the trays and it was such a nice surprise to find this note written on the tray mat. "Thank You for the Beautiful meal, it was delicious" Its so lovely to get that feedback and makes it all worthwhile for Me and Jackie and the kids. Thank you soo much and we appreciated the kind words .

New Mattresses

NEWS UPDATE! All our Queen beds have had all the mattresses replaced with BRAND NEW Medium firmness 23cm thick mattresses with a pillow top for extra comfort.. Why medium firmness? studies show that due to different body types that medium firmness is the best choice for mattress comfort and longevity! So your guaranteed a comfortable nights sleep at Mountain View Motel! All our single mattresses will be replaced next week! So all up 32 mattresses swapped over! Another reason to stay with us.

Quick bathroom refresh

Me and Zac (our 13yo) have spent a couple of days refreshing one of the older bathrooms.. Nothing major but definitely looks a lot better, powder coloured concrete floor covered, regrouted and sealed shower, out with the blue sink, blinds installed. Next we are awaiting some new benches and cupboards for our twin rooms so that it moves the singles around the corner and gives some more privacy. We also took delivery of our new mattresses today, so big day tomorrow putting them in the rooms and taking out the old ones. All this was meant to be done during our quiet time, but it doesn't seem to be getting quiet!!!

Snowy Corryong and Surrounds

This morning we all awoke to snow on Mt Mittamatite and Mt Elliot and surrounding areas.. What a great sight to see.. Then went for a drive into Wodonga to pick up some supplies for our room renovations and was driving in the snow! First real time i've driven through the snow and I was in awe, so beautiful. But be careful, lots of accidents along the road from Wodonga to Corryong. Last night we had a very late check in due to them not being able to get through due to trees down and a car rolled due to black ice on the road. SLOW DOWN especially when getting to Koetong / Shelley area. Be safe all.

Stormy night!

Pretty hairy scary night here in Corryong tonight. High winds, lots of rain and hail. Trees down between Corryong and Wodonga.. Busy, busy, busy.. Most people staying in for dinner from our room service menu... But there's still a rainbow!! Photo taken this afternoon before the storm!
